Q: What is the minimum/maximum group size?
A: There is no minimum group size. However, Quinta do Lagar is rented only as a whole property (not by individual rooms). Maximum capacity is 12 guests. Four rooms can be set up with either two twin beds or one queen bed. Room 3 can also be configured as twin or queen and includes a convertible sofa that sleeps two.
Q: What catering options are available?
A: We do not have in-house catering, but we’re happy to recommend trusted local caterers. The kitchen is fully equipped and comes stocked with basic staples such as milk, coffee, and bread so you can get started right away.
Q: How far is the nearest airport?
A: Madeira International Airport (FNC) is just a 13-minute drive from Quinta do Lagar. Taxis and the Bolt app are both available for easy transfers.
Q: Do I need a car?
A: A rental car is recommended if you plan to go sightseeing or take field trips. Madeira offers a wide range of car rental options. Public buses are available if you prefer not to drive.
Q: Is Quinta do Lagar accessible?
A: Yes. Most of the property is accessible via ramps, and one guest room includes a roll-in shower. Please note that the rear-facing rooms are accessed by stairs.
Q: Is a deposit required?
A: Yes. A 50% booking deposit is required to secure your reservation. At check-in, a €250 refundable security deposit and the remaining balance are due.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations made more than 3 months in advance: 100% refundable
Cancellations made between 2 months and 3 weeks in advance: 50% refundable
Cancellations made less than 2 weeks in advance: non-refundable
Q: Is WiFi available?
A: Yes, WiFi is available throughout the property, including common areas and guest rooms.
Q: What’s the weather like?
A: Madeira is known for its mild, subtropical climate. Expect comfortable temperatures year-round, though mountain weather can be changeable. We recommend layers, especially for outdoor sessions.
Q: What are check-in and check-out times?
A: Standard check-in is 3:00 pm, and check-out is 11:00 am. We’re happy to accommodate special requests when possible.
Q: What activities are available nearby?
A: Madeira offers plenty of options for side adventures: hiking levada trails, exploring the magical Fanal Forest, visiting historic Machico, or relaxing in coastal towns. We’ll be glad to recommend field trips that match the theme of your retreat.
